Spring Klimt

Oto moja Barbie Klimta. U mnie dzisiaj w bardzo wiosennej kreacji. Wnikliwe oko obserwatora spostrzeże być może bardzo duże nawiązanie do mojego ostatnio ulubionego projektanta - Oscara de la Renta. Jeśli ktoś natomiast zarzuci mi, że to kopia jego arcydzieła z wiosny 2015- będzie to dla mnie bardzo duży komplement, choć daleko mi do jakiegokolwiek projektanta, a i parę rzeczy zmieniłam. Nawet jeśli podobieństwo okaże się znikome, wierzcie mi, że bardzo się starałam.

This is my Klimt Barbie. She's wearing an outfit probably more appropriate for the spring, because of the colours. If you look closer, maybe you will notice that I was inspired by one of my favourite fashion designers - Oscar de la Renta and his outfit for spring 2015. If you say that it's a copy of this masterpiece, it will be a compliment for me, even though my work is a far cry from his. I also changed a few bits. And even if you say that my ensemble doesn't remind it at all, believe me, I was trying hard to achieve this effect.


Barbie Klimta jest postacią wzorowaną na Adeli Bloch-Bauer, którą Klimt namalował około 1907 roku. Była żoną wiedeńskiego bankiera. Jej obraz przepełnia złota kolorystyka, Adela ma tutaj też bardzo charakterystycznie ułożone dłonie i łagodny wyraz twarzy. Ma też piękną, złotą sukienkę.

Klimt Barbie is a character based on Adele Bloch-Bauer who was paited by Gustaw Klimt around 1907. She was the wife of a banker living in Vienna. Her portrait is full of golden colour and Adela has got characteristically folded hands and quite good-natured face expression there. She is also wearing a beautiful golden dress.


Barbie Klimta dostała więc w pakiecie bardzo ciekawą złotawo - żółtą sukienkę, która jednak nieco zabarwiła jej tułów. Dostała też ruchome ręce z wieloma możliwościami ustawiania. Te dłonie, wierzcie mi, są przepiękne - smukłe i gładkie z pięknie wymalowanymi paznokciami. Zupełnie nie rozumiem dlaczego jej nogi również nie mogą takie być. Chodziło mi po głowie kilka razy, żeby dać jej całkowicie ruchome ciało, ale tych dłoni nie zastąpią nawet najpiękniej ruszające się stawy kolanowe.

Klimt Barbie also got a very interesting yellow and golden dress, which unfortunately stained her torso a little. She has got articulated arms as well. Her hands are beautiful - slender and smooth with nicely painted red nails. I can't figure it out why her legs aren't articulated. There were a few times when I wanted to give her a fully-articulated body, but those hands can't be substituted even by the most perfectly moving knee joints. 

Nie wiem czy wiecie, ale Klimt nieco wcześniej namalował też inny obraz o bardzo podobnej złotej kolorystyce (widać go tu w tle). Był to obraz Judyty, która najpierw uwodzi, a potem ścina głowę królowi Holofernesowi. Czasami zastanawiam się, czy aby ta moja Barbie Klimta to na pewno spokojna Adela, a nie przypadkiem Judyta Kusicielka. Jak na spokojną Adelę ma nieco szelmowskie spojrzenie.


I'm not sure if you know that Klimt painted another picture which is also full of golden colour (You can see it in the background here). It was a painting of Judith, who first seduced and later decapitated King Holofernes. Sometimes I wonder if my Klimt Barbie is the good natured Adele or rather Judith the Temptress. The look in her eyes is truly mischievous.
